At miavita we adhere the highest quality standards, find the most important criteria for choosing your insurance broker here:
1. FINMA registration - An insurance broker company and it's advisors must be registrered in the FINMA register. You can use this register to verify our company and our advisors.
2. Information duty with article 45 - Upon your first contact with an insurance advisor you will receive the "information duty" document known as "Article 45". Article 45 details how the broker handles your personal data, the privacy policy and the liability of selling insurance.
3. CICERO quality seal - Though from 2025 laws are changing and a FINMA registration suffices, you can check if your broker's advisors are registered in the "advisor-check" on the Cicero website. Registered members, have a membership card.
Once you choose a broker, you give them a mandate to manage your insurance. You sign a power of attorney authorizing the broker to negotiate with the insurers on your behalf. The broker then obtains quotes in the areas you require, compares them in terms of premiums and benefits and submits proposals to you.
Signing the mandate, is a necessary step to help our company provide insurance services to you.
The mandate covers:
1. Granting of power of attorney (client)
As a client, you will be asked to grant the power of attorney which enables the broker to act on your behalf should you wish the broker to do so.
For example, if you want to switch insurance provider, you can notify your broker to contact the insurer and take care of the process for you.
2. Analysing risks and comparing your existing insurance policies; obtaining and comparing offers (broker)
The job of a broker is to understand your needs, how you are currently insured, find better offers and help you compare them.
3. Conclusion of contracts (customer)
As a client, you can conclude new insurance contracts via your broker.
4. Support in the event of a claim and in the event of changes (broker)
The broker can provide you support with claims, and help you make e.g. address or contact information changes, when you need it.
High-quality advice, based on a detailed assessment of your needs, combined with our expertise helps you get better insurance and save money.
Insurance is a complex topic, which can cost a lot of time and requires a lot of knowhow. As an insurance broker we are experts who can help you find the best offer to match your needs.
In insurance you can save money in two ways, it really depends on your tolerance to risk.
A lower premium, corresponds with less coverage. This means the risk that you have to pay the largest amount of medical expenses when they occur is greater. This is ok, if you stay healthy.
A higher premium, corressponds with more coverage.
There are some basic ways to start optimizing:
- Franchise / deductible
- Look for your region
- etc.
This can be a long and complex process, that's why it's useful to speak with an expert insurance advisor.
